Protecting the rights of unaccompanied minors in Europe's evolving legal landscape
An interdisciplinary European research project examining migration, law, and vulnerability to inform policy and strengthen protection systems across the EU.
HUMANS is a European research project focused on the protection of unaccompanied foreign minors within the European legal system.
At a time of profound transformation in EU migration and asylum policies, the project critically examines how legal frameworks operate in practice, with particular attention to Italy as a key entry point and transit country.
By combining legal analysis, interdisciplinary research, and stakeholder engagement, HUMANS aims to identify gaps between European standards and national implementation, while contributing to the development of more effective, rights-based policies.

Funded by the European Union, HUMANS brings together researchers, institutions, and stakeholders to advance knowledge, inform policy, and promote the protection of vulnerable minors across Europe.
